Service Description

The Course takes place in Chertsey, in a purpose-built studio at my home address, and is taught in a supportive, homely environment where you and your baby will be as relaxed as possible, encouraging the right balance of calm for your baby to be open to massage. The Studio has gentle colour changing lights to engage and gently stimulate your baby, whilst the calm and comforting ambience and music, allow both you and your baby to be transported to your own connected bubble for an hour each week. The 5-week Baby Massage course combines Indian and Swedish massage techniques, reflexology, baby yoga and holding/comforting strokes. Each week we learn to massage one area of your baby's body, so that the routine is learned at a pace suitable for your baby. Baby massage helps to develop your baby in a healthy way by stimulating the blood circulation as well as the developing muscles and nerves. Massage can help to relax your baby-assisting with prolonged sleep, it will aid the relief of colic or gas, help to build muscle tone, and the face massage will not only help your baby to suckle properly if they aren't already doing so but will encourage them to make sounds. Learning these skills will strengthen the bond between you and your baby and lead the way to a deeper more relaxed sleep for your baby and hopefully in turn, you! Once you have completed the course, you will be able to adapt the routine to suit you at home. I have over 15 years massage experience, having trained in Baby Massage with the International Association of Infant Massage - the only Worldwide organisation dedicated solely to Baby Massage. As a mum of 2, Sleep Consultant, Instructor of Baby Sign Language classes and Monkey Music Teacher, I am extremely experienced with babies and toddlers, so you are in safe hands and can throw anything at me. I will do my best to help in any way I can. At each of the hour or so-long sessions, you will have the opportunity to share your journey of early parenthood and chat with other like-minded parents. You will receive a plethora of information to assist you with sleep, teething, feeding, time for yourself etc, and techniques to help you through the pressures early parenthood. The £70 course fee includes Massage Oils, handouts for each session so that you can practice at home, a Certificate upon completion of the course, and a small thank you from me to you. The course fee is payable upon booking in order to secure your place.
